One may believe one is in Canada with all these maple leves all around on the ground. But if so: where is all the maple syrup one finds in Canada?

Max klätterträd på Laboratorieholmen
Max favoritträd att klättra i är denna björk på Laboratorieholmen , som jag fotograferat honom i under flera föregående år.
Max favorit tree to climb is this birchtree on the isle of the Laboratory. I have snapped several pictures of him just here during proceeding years.
Svanfamilj på Varvsfjärden. Swan family.
En svanfamilj just utanför vardagsrumsfönstret på väg ut ur Varvsfjärden i riktning mot sundet.
A swan family, just outside our living room, on its way from the Shipyard bay heading for the straight of Kalmar.
Max utanför Blåkulla. Max climbing.
Här har Max hittat sig ett nytt klätterträd. Det finns på tant Maja Wärnlunds tomt strax öster om Blåkulla ( huset heter så , det som nu har "Handlarn" i bottenplanet ) på Ängö.
Here Max has found himself another tree to climb. It is located on the site of Maja Wärnlunds former house just east of Blåkulla. The name of the house in the background.

Nu återstår det bara några meter dike att täcka över.

Nu är snart grävningsarbetet färdigt. Slangen ska kopplas till denna avloppsbrunn.
Därefter ska vattnet ha fri tillgång till det kommunala avloppsnätet.

Gatan uppgrävd. The road has been dug up.
Förbindelsen mellan de två ägorna är nu snart öppen.

Dräneringsslangen. The drainage pipe .
Dessa små hål ser till att släppa igenom vatten redan nu trots att slangen endast är delvis nergrävd.
These small holes make sure to release some of the water already now even though the pipe is just partly dug down into the ditches.

Till denna dräneringsbäck ska så vattnet ledas hela vägen ifrån "vår" insjö.
This is the drainage ditch which will receive the water all the way from our litte "lake", which started it all.

Här är huvudbrunnen som ska ta vattnet vidare ut i det kommunala systemet. Det har redan börjat att sippra där nere.
This is the cesspit to receive the water and transport it further on to the public cesspool. And there is already floating some water down there.
Morgondagsarbete; Work tomorrow
I morgon ska slangen ner i huvuddiket och då blir det en fors ut i avloppsdiket, för här står det åtskillinga kubikmeter med vatten och väntar på att släppas fritt.
Tomorrow the pipe will be sunk down into this, the main ditch. Then we may expect a flood since here there are several cubic meter of water waiting to start flooding.

De ser ju riktigt malliga ut där de står i vägkanten.

Dräneringsgrävning dag 2
Diket är klart och ska nu få lite grovgrus i botten innan avloppsröret kan läggas på plats.
The ditch is ready and is to be filled to some stage with coarse gravel before the sewage pipe will be put into site.

Diket är klart fram till bäcken och nu ska slangen ner i diket på ett djup av 172 cm ex. dikets bottenivå.
The ditch has been dug and now the sewage pipe is to be installed on a depth of 172 cm from the bottom of the ditch.

Höstaster vid en gärsgård. New York Aster by an old fence.
Aldrig tidigare har dessa höstastrar blommat lika rikligt som de gör denna höstmånad i oktober.
Och nog gör de sig väl mot gärsgårn, eller ?
Never have these New York Asters been blooming as fullly as they do this October 2014.
And they are decorative against this old fence, aren´t they?
BLOMFLUGA ; HOVERFLY
En blomfluga söker nektar i en Höstaster novi-belgii. Hoppas att den får sig ett gott sutt.
A Hoverfly is looking for nectar in a New York Aster and i do hope it will receive a tasty suck.
Bigårdsgräsmattan; The lawn in the Beeyard
Gräsmattan har aldrig nångonsin varit så väl klippt, som nu när Karl Alfred går över den.
Samtidigt som han klipper ner alla de eklöv, som droppar ner varje timme på dygnet så här års.
Och valnötsträden har fått nya kaninskydd runt stammarna.
The lawn in the Beeyard has never ever been as well mowed as now when Popeye handles it.
At he same time, he mows all those oak leaves which are dropping down every minute of the day at this time of the year.
And the walnut trees have new rabbit protections against their stems.
Kaninskydd ; Rabbit protections
De gamla kaninskydden ersatte jag idag så att Karl Alfred kommer åt att slå gräset runt de båda valnötsträden. Stenarna ska se till att han går emot dem i stället för trädet.
The former rabbit protections, I today replaced with these new ones. Now Popeye will be able to mow the grass around these two walnut trees. The stones are there in order make Popeye hit those rather than the trees.
ROSKNOPP ; ROSE BUD
Idag har vi den 21 oktober. Ska denna vackar rosknopp hinna slå ut innan frosten nyper den?
Today it´s October 21 and I wonder if it will be able to flower before the frost arrives?

Jag var rädd att ryssen skulle komma med sina ubåtar, så när jag ringde för att påminna R. om att det är hög tid att starta dräneringsarbetet, inför kommande höstregn, meddelade han att de just, timmen innan , påbörjat dräneringsgrävningen.

I was afraid that the Russians would arrive here with their submarines one day. So when calling R. in order to remind him that it´s full time to start digging the drain ditches before the autumn rains will start in a serious manner.
And he answered that they had just started digging an hour ago. Great timing, indeed !!

DRÄNERING påbörjad. DRAINING WORK just started
Idag har man just påbörjat det arbete, som jag påpekat , att vi är i stort behov av.

Today they have started digging the ditches needed to join the two drains which, hopefully, will take care of our problem with a sea related ground in my Beeyard.

Produktiv dag ! A most productive day !
Själv har jag kört med trimmern i kanterna. Karl Alfred ( robotgräsklipparen) kör över gräsmattorna.
Ubbe har staplat in resterande björkved så nu är all ved skyddad för vädrets makter. Gunnel har tvättat och torkvädret är bra. Och dessutom har hon lagat både dillkött på kalv samt en helt underbar äpplekaka .
Max & Kalle har hjälpt till att kratta löv och Jossan har krattat och kört massvis ner till kommande vårbrasa.

I myself have been working with my Honda trimmer cutting down the garden edges.
POPEYE ( our robotic mower ) is mowing the lawns.
Ubbe has been stacking all the remaining firewood so now all the firewood is protected against future rain and snow.
Gunnel has done the laundry and it dried well under the prevailing weather circumstances. And on top of that she has cooked a wonderful lunch - dillseed veal plus a most delicious apple cake served along with a vanilla sauce.
Max & Kalle have been raking leaves and Jossan , finally, has been raking and wheelbarrowing the contents to the forthcoming spring fire place.
JUDE KÖRS; JUDE RUNS
I morse fick Honda trimmern köra över detta land och nu gör Jossan resten. Skatorna är och nyper några lyktor ( Japanska lyktor är ett annat namn på denna växt Physalis alkekengi ) varje dag och det är bäret inne i lyktan som tydligen smakar gott.
Early this morning my Honda trimmer did a good job when I cut these plants down. Now Jossan is doing the remaining job. The Magpies ( a bird ) have been stealing a few lanterns every day and it is the berry inside the lantern which evidently is very tasty. Another name of this flower is Japanese lanterns; Physalis alkekengi.
APISTAN remsorna ur. The Apistan to be removed
Så tiden flyger ! Idag har dessa Apistan-remsor suttit i under 8 veckor så förhoppningsvis ska nu detta samhälle vara varroafritt?.
Gott om bin har det under alla omständigheter. Så Max drottning AINA mår bara bra skyddad och uppvärmd av alla hennes kompisar.
Time flies ! Today these Apistan strips have done their job during 8 full weeks. This hive in now free from all possible varroa mites?
It contains plenty of bees anyhow. And hopefully Max queen, AINA, is doing well protected and heated by all her mates..
VÅRBRASAN 2015. SPRING FIRE 2015
Nu när den förra brasan har lämnat utrymme för den kommande är det hög tid att ladda eldplatsen igen.
Sex höga, gamla rosbuskar ligger nu och tar igen sig inför april-brasan kommande vår.
Och det finns plats för mycket, mycket mera. Räfsorna ska igång !
Since the past fire has left space for the forthcoming one it is time to charge the rubbish heap again.
Six tall, old rose bushes are now realxing here in order to make the April fire in 2015 a good one.
And there is room for much, much more !
The rakes are to be used a lot.

Nu ska här eldas. Och mycket annat ska hamna på brasan, innan dagen är uppeldad.

En produktiv dag.
Mycket har blivit uppbränt och nu har vi plats för mera inför vårbrasan 2015.

PADDA; Common TOAD; Bufo bufo
Vacker är den inte men nu letar denna padda efter ett ställe att gräva ner sig på för att övervintra.
Det är inte ofta jag ser detta djur men jag blir lika förvånad varje gång över hur ful denna skapalse verkligen är.
Å andra sidan : allt är relativt.
This is not a pretty creature and right now it is looking around in order to find itself a place where it can dig himself a hole into the ground to survive the forthcoming winter period.
It is not very often I find this animal and every time I do, I am always surprised to see how ugly this creature really is.
On the other hand : Everything is relative, isn´t it ?

He is doing an extraordinarily good job and cuts also oakleaves and oakpieces which have blown down by the wind.
