Bigården Johannero

Nu har vi fått en ny gata ute på Varvsholmen : Knölsvangatan. "Bredbandet" är ockuperat. Now we have a new street on the isle of the Varvsholmen. The Mute Swan Street. "Bredbandet" has been occupied.

Fågelmataren var helt tom när jag kom ut idag. Nu är den fulladdad igen. The bird feeder was empty when I came out here today. Now it is loaded once again. Tallow balls including sun rose seeds.

Den får vara i fred för mig idag. The lier´s bench may rest from the burden of me today.

Inne i Kalmar är det snöfritt men här ute, 14 km ifrån centrala stan är det gott om det vita. Plus 1 grad C. In the town Kalmar there is no snow at all but out here just 14 km from downtown Kalmar there is plenty of the white stuff. Plus 1 C.

Ett femtiotal gråhägrar står här och värmer sig i solskenet, minus 2 C. Flera står dessutom ute på Koholmarna strax söder om denna lilla ö, Måsskäret, i Malmfjärden. " Mammas gata" i fonden med Funkishuset och Grattes ( ursprungligen tandläkare Berglund, som byggde det ) rakt fram. Approximately fifty grey herons are resting here in full sunshine and 2 C below freezing point. More of them are to be seen at the small island, Cow islands, just south of this, the Måsskäret ( the Gullskerry, freely translated ).

Malmfjärdsidyll med svanar, gräsänder, sothöns, vigg, gråhäger och storskrakar mitt inne i staden, nästan. Nog bor vi fint i vår lilla stad. Idyllic spot by our centralized, located bay, the Malmfjärden. Here we are watching mallards, swans, tufted ducks, gray herons and gooseanders less than one kilometer from where we live. We certainly live well from all aspects here in this, our , small town of Kalmar.

Årets första snöfall ger snödropparna lite isolering under kommande frostnätter. Och trots den snö som fallit i natt är det ändå plus 1 grad varmt. The first snowfall of this year, 2015, is adding some isolation during forthcoming nights of frost. And on top of the snow that fell last night the temperature is still on the plus side, +1 C.

Trots den milda "vinter" vi haft i år, var den röda julrosen mera utslagen förra året, 2014. Å andra sidan: minnet är bra. Men kort. Sa´ gamlingen. Och sådan är jag själv nu. In spite of the mild "winter" we have had so far : the red Christmas rose was ahead of the season last year, 2014. On the other hand : the memory is good . But short. The old man said. And there I myself am right now. . These days.

Det första vårtecknet detta år, 2015. Och de lär få frysa om fötterna många, långa nätter ännu . Men dagarna är nu längre och nätterna kortare, så ... The first sign of spring this year, 2015. But they must expect to keep their cold feet still many long nights ahead. The days however now are longer and the nights shorter night by night , so ....

Den röda julrosen håller på att slå ut. Den vita har blommat länge nu. Alla julrosor vill ha rikligt med kalk. Det vita är alltså inte snö. Denna weekend har vi nu raskat ut julen här ute på Johannero och såväl gran som julpynt är borta. The red Christmas rose is about to bloom. The white specie has been flowering for quite some time by now. All Christmas roses require lime so the white stuff is actually not snow. This weekend we have removed not just the Christmas tree but also all the Christmas decorations out here at Johannero.

Idag har vi ett fantastisk vackert väder men plus 2 garder och stilla. Men isen ligger kvar i vattentunnan. Today we have beautiful sunshine, no wind and plus 2 degrees C. And the ice since last night will remain, I guess.

Så här lätt kan det vara att krypa mellan avdelningarna i en ubåt. Inte lika enkelt för gamle Morfar. It may be easy to pass the various departments on board a submarine. Not just as easy for old Granddad.

Gunnel är nyfiken på att se om ryssen är på väg emot oss. Men det är helt lugnt. Vi fick som julpresent av Jossan, Ubbe & Max en heldag nere på Marinmuseum i Karlskrona. Vi har inte tidigare sett deras relativt nyligen invigda ubåtsmuseum men idag har vi tillbringat åtskilliga timmar där nere. Stort TACK för en högintressant dag i och utanför ubåtsflottiljens numera museala NEPTUN, som var ett högdjur när hon släpptes ut ifrån Kockums varv i Malmö, 1980. Numera skrotad sedan länge men också väl bevarad i detta museum. För f.d. ubåtsmotorman Jim, var det som att ta ett stort kliv tillbaka i livet. Gunnel is curious to see if there are any russians on there way to visit us. But everything is OK. As a Christmas gift, Gunnel & I received from Johanna, Urban and Max a full day, trip to and return plus entrance fee and a great lunch in the Marine Museum of Karlskrona. We haven´t seen their relatively new submarine museum but today we spent several hours down there. This submarine, NEPTUN, was a highly modern submarine when she was released from the shipyard, Kockum in Malmö back in 1980. Nowadays scrapped since several years back. However now well maintained and preserved in this museum. Jim, former submariner during his days in the Swedish marine, experienced his time of youth once again.

Max håller på att styra in "sitt " fartyg i Los Angeles hamn via marinmuseets fartygssimulator i Karlskrona marinmuseum. Spännande ! Otäckt verklighetsanknutet. Max is steering "his" ship into the harbor of Los Angeles. By means of the ship simulator of the Karlskrona Marine Museum. Exciting kneed. And incredibly realistic.

Byssan i ubåten NEPTUN s innandöme. Litet men sååå välplanerat ! Och bättre käk än ombord i en ubåt lär man knappast kunna få någonstans. This is the kitchen area on board the submarine NEPTUN. Small and so extremely well planned. And better food than in a submarine you won´t find anywhere else.

Max håller på att ta in "sitt" fartyg i Los Angeles hamn via museets fartygssimulator. Spännande ! Max is right now steering "his" ship into the harbor of Los Angeles with the assistance of the museum´s simulator. Exciting indeed.

I morgon har vi detta , nya års fullmåne. Vem vet om vi har en lika molnfri afton då ? Lika bra att passa på. Tomorrow it is full moon for the first time this, new year. And who knows if the heaven is just as free of clouds by then?

Årets första soluppgång. Eller ? The first sunrise of the new year. Or ?

Året börjar med värme, 7 grader plus, och molnigt väder. All snö ha smält bort så nu är landskapet grått och tråkigt igen. Stor skillnad mot förra årets sista dag. The new year has started off with warm, 7 degr. C plus, and cloudy weather . All the snow is now gone and the landscape is grey and boring. Quite a difference when comparing with the last day of previous year.

Vacker dag men lite snö kvar och plus 4 grader varmt. Bra avslut på året. Beautiful day with still some snow on the ground. Plus 4 degrees C. Great finish of this year.
