... med drottningen AINA ,får här sista givan sockerlösning, 4 kg löst i 2,75 liter vatten, totalt 12,5 kg i tre givor.

Hon och hennes undersåtar övervintras på 10 st 1/1-SVEA ramar och detta samhälle är nu starkt och flitigt, för fortfarande drar pollenbina in sin proteingiva i kupan.

Om ca 10 dagar blir det dags att sätta in APISTAN-remsor, som sedan ska hänga i 8 veckor för att ta död på de eventuela varroakvalster, som finns i kupan.

Sedan är det vinter! För bina , vill säga.

Allt nektardrag har nu upphört. I stort sett, alltså.

Måtte AINA & Co trivas och övervintra väl.

 

Max, our grandson, first own bee hive.

This hive with the queen, named AINA, after the name of the day when she crawled out of her cell, is here getting its last batch of sugar solution. Regular sugar dissolved in like warm water.

The bees in this specific hive will ,hopefully, survive the forthcoming winter period and it is a very strong society.

Remains to add two strips of APISTAN in order to combat those varroa mites which may live here right now.

For the bees,  winter season is approaching quickly and all flowers producing nectar are by and large gone.

Pollen is still available though.
